I began this project in 2023, inspired by everyday stories and people I encountered. I started with figures that are sad or have some brokenness, yet they remain cute and put together. Broken hearts are recurring symbols on my canvas. The different shapes symbolize unique heartbreaks, some still carrying voids. For some, I added another small figure, a friend next to them. Some occupied the darkness in the space they took up. I plan to create wallpapers using these drawings, so I made a decorative background.
Through my work, I explore emotions, reflecting on the interplay between emotion, memory, and colors. My intention to compile them in a book serves as a personal reflection tool. Drawing, unlike writing, offers a private narrative and sometimes different recollections. It’s like storing memories through emotions.
